Championships and State = Chlorine 24/7

Summer swim can be summed up in two words....CRAZY fun..or would it be CRAZY busy? Maybe it is CRAZY fun and busy...But then that wouldn't be two words...

Anyway, the boys decided to swim on two teams again this summer...their summer neighborhood league (Sundance), and DSA (Denver Swim Academy), their year-round league. Here is Gavin, AKA G-Rocket, at the All Star meet. I have to admit watching the boys swim fly is awesome!

To sum it up, we had swim meets every single weekend since the end of May, with multiple weekends where we swam for both leagues making it MIGHTY busy....but so worth it.  It was so fun watching them grow as swimmers, making personal bests and even breaking some pool records!

We headed to Championships with our summer league...BUT first the mohawk tradition. And mom was recruited to shave heads!

And Cameron qualified this year, Woot! He is following his bros footsteps for sure!

Cam's mohawk was most spectacular...

So were the coaches who dressed as the Harlem Globetrotters...

Oh, and how we love head-coach Jeanette...she is just the best!!

Oops...Cam got a hold of a wig...leave it to Cam!

But it was all business as the boys gathered up their relay team... they were getting PUMPED! They were half a second off the pool record and the broke it!!! Go boys!! Gavin also broke Jackson's 100 IM pool record from last year..sorry Jax.  Needless to say, Gavin was quite pleased to knock Jax off the record board :-) The boys swam great and of course FAST! And Cam was very pleased to get a medal -- third overall in backstroke!

I was a bad mommy and did not take any pictures at State for the boy's meet with DSA, partly because it was just too CRAZY, and also because the lighting is horrible indoors and there is no flash photography allowed.

BUT I will report that the boys swam AWESOME!  I am so proud and in awe of their dedication to swimming.  Over the three-day meet, combined, Jax and Gav shaved off 34 seconds...truly amazing! Both boys swam personal bests in every event!  It was just so great to watch...very fun. So, so proud!
