Talk about fun and relaxation! We headed to Grandpa Will's and Ann's for the weekend. We started out the weekend at Eldora to do a little skiing. When we arrived it was literally white out conditions with blowing and heavy snow.... Mom decided to take shelter from the storm while her crazy kids faced the cold no problem! The sun did peak through at the end of the day but they were pretty much icicles by the time we left. Clint decided to take one last run as I packed everyone up. Bad plan, the mountian lost electricity and he was stranded on the lift (where it was FREEZING) for a half hour. Luckily, we had our walkie talkies and were able to talk to him.
We headed back to Grandpa's for hot cocoa, cookies, crafts, exploring and happy hour. Followed by a delicious meal, hot tubing and sleep. There is truly nothing like sleeping in the mountains!
The next day we went into town and had lunch and got to take a "VIP" tour of the Nederland Firehouse. The boys were so excited. They got to dress up in all the gear, get in the fire trucks, slide down the fireman "slide" and see where they sleep, and even got to go for a ride through town. It was very neat.
Thanks Grandpa and Ann!!!
