Our summer swimmers

So far this summer I think the boys have been IN the water more than they have been out of it! Competing on two swim teams --Greenwood Tiger Sharks (year-round swim) and Hills West (summer league)-- has been keeping us very busy. But the boys are absolutely loving it and doing AMAZINGLY well!

They have gone from finishing in last place last summer ...to taking first place over-all in their events! It is just so awesome to watch! Coming from the Mom, watching their dedication to the sport and seeing them succeed makes me so proud :-)

So far this summer, Jax has made Silver State in 6 events ( for Tiger sharks) and has made ALL Star in every event but one ( for Hills West). Gavin has made All Stars in 3 events and is 6/10 of a second off of breaking the record in the Butterfly for Hills West swim club! (Gavin is close to making Silver State in several events on Tiger Sharks -- times are by ages 10 and under-- no 8 and under Silver State times).

Here are two videos of the boys meet this weekend. It is hard to identify who is who when racing. The boys are swimming in lane 4 ( the middle of the pool with swim caps...3rd swimmer from the bottom of the screen). You might have to watch it twice to make sure you are watching them :-).

Gavin is swimming 25 butterfly and wins his event- but very close - great race!

Jax is swimming 100IM (all four strokes -- fly, back, breast, free) - It was a great race between he and another kid from the other team. Jax got out-touched by a hair...UUGHH!!! Fun to watch!

Oh, I have not written about Cam -- well, I always remind the boys how great Cam is -- he comes to the meets every week and makes the best out of hours of boredom!!! Cam, honey --swim team next year! He can't WAIT to swim like the boys!
