Spring Break - San Diego

It was Spring Break and the Will's headed off to San Diego! The trip started off with meeting up with the O'connors --We did not tell the boys that they were going to be there. The look on their faces was priceless...too funny. It warms my heart to know that the boys are so close to Kellen, Evan and Kaitlyn. Jax, Gav and Cam just adore them and they are just so tolerant and patient with them...or should I say patient with Cam :-)

The O'connors joined us at Sea World. What a blast! I know I am 20 years older than the last time I was there but it was still so awesome! The Shamu show was incredible and the boys couldn't get enough of the Bat Ray exhibit where they could touch and feed the rays. Jackson and Gavin also decided to ride the Atlantis roller coaster/water ride. As a mother, my stomach was in knots waiting for them as they rushed off to the ride. I was just praying Gavin would not get sick all over Clint! (For those who don't know this...he gets car sick just driving to the mall!) As it turned out, the boys made it through with no trouble. Although I think that was Gavin's one and only roller coaster he will ever go on! Kuddos for being so brave!

During our trip we also met Papa Rob, Sharon and Lucas on Coronado Island. Unfortunately, the sun was not out and I did not pack my ski gear to keep me warm. But the boys did not seem to care as they ran through the water getting soaking wet. Kids amaze me! They had so much fun running all over the beach looking for shells and dead creatures....lovely. Thank goodness we had the hot tub and pool that was literally on the beach to go warm up in.

Next, we were off to Legoland. Wow - amazing to see all that can be made with Legos! I think Jackson has decided on his career...a Lego builder at the park. The highlight, in my opinion, was Lucas riding in the mini Lego cars with his knees bulging out of the car! Hilarious! As we finished with Legoland, the boys went to the Lego store to rid themselves of the money burning a hole in their pockets (they have been saving their money for this for months!). They wanted a particular Star Wars Lego.......of course they were out of stock! UGGGGHHHH! Huge crocodile tears. Thank goodness we found a Walmart that was well stocked....OY!

After all of the excitement and activities, the next day we had a nice relaxing day at the pool. The best part was that our little Auntie Louise came down from Laguna Woods to spend the day with us. The boys talked her ear off about Legoland and all the different characters from Star Wars the Clone Wars. They also showed off some of their strokes in the pool. It was so wonderful to get caught up with Auntie....although the visit was much too short!

All in all we had a great time in San Diego. Lots of great memories....including our mini-van, or "mini-man" as Cam called it. The boys were very impressed with the van and are pushing hard for one as our next car --Although while returning the van, Cam out of the blue said " So, where do we turn in this junker!" maybe I have swayed his opinion :-)
